Class Level:
Beginners, intermediate and advanced. In a 1:1 session you’ll be guided through the traditional techniques and tools of silver jewellery making and come away with your very own hand crafted piece to treasure forever. Work on your own designs or choose a technique from the vast range of workshops available in our school. About: Enjoy a unique personalised experience of one-on-one tuition with your tutor; and learn to make your own bespoke jewellery pieces whilst learning new skills in our fully equipped studio. Before your session, we will discuss if you have a particular project in mind, or what technique you hope to learn from the class. Your tutor can then plan a class specifically for you. You may have no specific goal in mind, but merely want to learn to work with metal. For beginners, you will learn how to pierce (saw) your design out of sheet metal, how to solder, texture, file and polish your design. At the end of the day, you will go home with at least one piece of wearable jewellery. For intermediates and advanced, we can tailor your session to exactly what you would like to focus on. Time needed It will depend totally on what you wish to make. For an idea of time frames have a look at the various taster workshops to get an idea of what is needed. But as a rough idea, in a 2 hour session you could expect to complete 2 stacking rings, or a solid textured band. In a 3 hour session you could complete a few stacking rings and include either an accent or bezel stone setting included. In a 3 or 4 hour session you could make a more complex pieces of jewellery and learn more challenging stone setting techniques. Please contact me for a time frame needed to create your design - whether it is a bangle, rings or pendants. I can teach you everything we have already featured on our website. A certain amount of copper will be provided free. 16 is generally the youngest we allow. If you want to book private tuition for anybody older than 10 and younger than 16, please contact me to discuss it. Please be aware that any person between the ages of 10 and 16 will need to be accompanied by a paying adult. |
What’s Provided:
Private tuition Use of all tools All consumables. (flux, solder, saw blades etc) Not provided: Metal and gemstones. We will discuss before hand what you'd like to make and you will then be guided as to how much and what you need and a price. Class duration: 1 - 5 hours - Class time determined by you. Where: Litherland, Liverpool What to Bring: We suggest wearing casual clothes. Aprons will be provided if necessary Notebook and pencil Closed shoes - no sandals. Long hair to be tied back - no long scarves Spectacles if you need them. Safety goggles and ear protectors are provided. Refreshments: Tea, Coffee and biscuits provided. Lunch: 1 hour break.
