Coronavirus Rules and Procedures in our studio
Please note - Tracy is in the high risk category. Both she and Keith have been double vaccinated.
In line with the government guidelines we have outlined our safety measures implemented to help prevent the spread of the virus. Please read through these carefully.
Upon entering the studio, please use the hand sanitiser provided.
Our studio and tools have been cleaned and sanitised before you arrive and is also done throughout the lesson and again after your class. We also have hand sanitisers and antiseptic wipes at each work station and also placed on various works stations for your use. Each bench is equipped with its own hand tools - pliers, needle files etc. These are cleaned and sanitised before you arrive. There are also sanitising wipes at the tool stations. Each student to wipe down the tools after use. There is disinfectant and paper towel available.
Face masks or visors – Tricky subject, so we will leave it up to you whether you want to wear them.
Each work bench has its own soldering station with hand held torch and a complete set of hand tools too avoid too much moving around the room. The larger Sievert torches are available for students needing a more powerful flame, but where possible, try to stay at your bench. If you need various tools/hammers/mandrels etc. Please ask your tutor to pass it to you.
Gloves – You do not have to wear them, but if you'd like to, please bring your own disposable gloves. Whilst soldering however, I would not advise using them as they are flammable, therefore extremely dangerous. You may be asked to remove any PPE deemed unsafe while using equipment in the workshop.
Should you have any symptoms, please stay away for the recommended 2 weeks. Please let us know so we can take immediate action. Tracy is in the high risk category, so any early warnings are needed.
Should the government guidelines change or should we go into another lock-down phase, we will shut down immediately. Refunds will be given or class dates rescheduled.
I am still offering tea and biscuits, but you are welcome to bring your own drinks or personal teacup with you if you prefer. Please ensure water bottles are sports cap bottles to prevent spillage on the workbenches.
