There is so much symbolism associated with the rose. Besides it representing romance and love; the quantity given also conveys different meanings. E.g. a single rose sometimes means 'Love at first sight'.
This rose is a perfect and ever lasting gift for Valentines day or for a 25th wedding anniversary or simply to show somebody you love them. It also makes a wonderful condolence flower to let somebody know you are thinking of them in their time of sorrow.

Class level:
Beginners and above. Some piercing and soldering skills would be advantageous. However, if you are a complete beginner, our tutors are on hand to help you every step of the way. We will ensure that you go home with a finished piece. All ages welcome. You are never too young or old to learn a new skill. Outline: The aim of this class is to give you the opportunity to experiment with making larger objects other than jewellery - although this lovely rose can easily be created for jewellery too. You will use a number of techniques, like how to apply your design template to the metal, how to pierce out (saw) your design, You will then use hammers to texture your petals and sepal, and then shape, polish and file your rose. This rose can be made in either copper or brass - however if you'd like to make it in silver, you can either supply your own silver, or contact Tracy so you can purchase silver on the day. You will make a life size ever lasting rose, which is ideal to gift to somebody. We will provide everything you need, including the sepal and rose petal templates, however you are welcome to draw your own if you prefer. This intimate unisex class in our Liverpool workshop, is a great environment to develop your creativity and do something fun with like-minded people. It also offers the opportunity to make lovely original gifts . This is suitable for students who are confident in their piercing and soldering skills. The course runs for 5 hours, but can on occasion run over to allow students to complete their project. For students between the ages of 16-18 you will need written consent from a parent. |
