About this class:

Learn how to molten set gemstones directly into sterling silver, a Tamara Gomez'’s signature method. Tamara took part in series one of the BBC TV Show “All That Glitters”.

This technique is perfect for those who love organic style jewellery and settings.

Skill Level: 
Intermediate/Advanced

Outline: 
  • Shape and form your settings using a bezel block
  • Create settings in a charcoal block
  • Practice torch control as you melt your silver bezel around your stones
  • Turn your settings into a pendant or a ring
    ​ ​​
Materials provided:

All tools and charcoal block provided.
2 x sapphire stones
2 x silver settings
2 x silver jump rings
1 x silver ring shank

Please feel free to bring your own tube settings and gemstones with you. Tracy will have plenty of materials on hand, if you'd like to purchase more on the day.

Tea, Coffee and biscuits provided.
What to Bring:
​This is a workshop environment, so your well being and safety is important to us. To ensure this is a safe - but fun environment for you to learn in; we ask that you please:
​
  • Wear comfortable old clothing, or bring an apron. Safety glasses are provided.
  • Long hair to be tied back. 
  • No loose flowing scarves, long sleeves or jewellery to be worn. 
  • Closed flat shoes - no sandals allowed.
  • Spectacles, if needed for close up work.
  • Notebook and pencil. Although we do provide some hand outs, you may want to take your own notes or draw sketches.​​
