Beginners, welcome but if you have some jewellery making experience, this will cetainly be an advantage.

​Introductory stone setting workshop, suitable for those with no previous experience and a great taster class for those taking their first steps into jewellery making. All ages over the age of 16 welcome. You are never too young or old to learn a new skill.

​Outline: 
An introduction to stone setting jewellery.

​In this class you will learn how to make a tube setting. 

You will be taken through all the steps by our fully qualified tutors to enable you to create either a beautiful pendant, or a ring. At the end of the class you will have learnt skills to enable you to continue tube setting on your own.

We'll start off by discussing design options, and whether you'd like to make a pendant or a ring. You will then be able to choose your cubic zirconia from our large collection of cubics.

We will begin by making  the ring - this will include measuring - your finger size using mandrels and sizer. You will be shown how to solder it together, measuring.
Next you will be shown how to use our pendant drill to cut seating for your stone.  You will then solder the tube  to your ring, before we finally set the stone.  We will finish off with filing and polishing your piece, to bring it to a lovely professional look, you can wear with pride. 

This intimate unisex class which is held in our Liverpool workshop, is also a great environment to develop your creativity and do something fun with like-minded people. It also offers the opportunity to make lovely original gifts, and it might even be the start of a new career.

Materials provided:​
  • 5 mm Cubic Zirconia
  • 5.5 Silver tube
  • Silver wire for ring or pendant

​Refreshments:
Tea, Coffee and biscuits provided.

What to Bring:
  • Wear old clothes. Safety glasses and aprons will be provided
  • Long hair to be tied back. 
  • Closed shoes - no sandals.
  • Spectacles if you need them for close work
  • Notebook and pencil - should you want to take notes.
